ABOUT KOENICH SOUND

As a guitarist, songwriter, and live engineer since the late ’90s,
I know how much heart goes into your songs.
Koenich Sound exists to honor that: mixing and mastering by someone who understands your music and your vision, its weight, atmosphere, emotion.
I’ve spent decades shaping heavy, atmospheric guitar music: Post-Metal, Post-Rock, Sludge, Stoner, Thrash & Death Metal, plus select indie/alternative projects.
My focus: warm, powerful, immersive mixes that reveal intention and detail.
From first roughs to final release, we refine the sound together until it’s truly undeniable.
This is collaboration built on trust and shared vision,
making your music its most intense self.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Simon Bornstein
MOSTLY HARMLESS
Franz recorded, mixed and mastered our first record "Central Intelligence Arlines". And still as of today, we like that record, because Franz perfectly captured our sound of that time. No one in the band had any experience with recording songs, so I guess it wasn't easy for Franz to finish that project in this great quality without having a nervous breakdown.

Daniel Becker
DUCT HEARTS
Franz has an amazing work ethic, full of the strive for details and perfection. He also has a thorough ear and is never too lazy for "let's just try this". He's put so much time and energy into mixing/mastering our LP he almost became a fourth band member for this project, also he knew exactly what sound we were looking to get and always shared our vision of how the record was supposed to sound.

A BREATH OF
Franz was my personal drum doctor in Fire From Below.
He rebuilt, tuned and dampened my set with me until it perfectly matched with the bands' guitars and style. The rehearsal room mixes he made from our recordings sounded so good that even my colleagues at the movie production company asked in which studio we had recorded them.
